The emo-rockers, who are currently recording the follow-up to 2005's A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, have reportedly changed their mind about how they want the LP to sound.
Guitarist Ryan Ross told MTV: "It didn't really sound like a band, it sounded like a film score.
"We decided to ditch the whole project and just start playing as a band. It's been a lot better."
The band's new album is scheduled for release in early 2008.
