Beastie Boys rapper Adam Yauch revealed that the pair would be among a number of artists adding vocals to the updated record.
Yauch described the project to Billboard as being "like a different version of the album, with a bunch of people guesting on it".
The 'Brass Monkey' singer added that the band are contemplating putting together a tour film made of Super 8 footage.
He commented: "While we were in Singapore we filmed stuff, and in Australia and different places. We're talking about cutting it together into a full-length film that kinda goes the length of the album."
