Akon has been forced to cancel a scheduled performance in Atlanta, Georgia after the stage he was meant to appear on collapsed.
The stage crews were putting the final touches to the show set at Emory University last night, when a canopy became loose and half the stage broke off.
A group of students and a drummer were injured during the incident, although Akon was not present when it happened.
Reports claim that ambulance and fire crews were called to the scene. The show has now been cancelled over safety fears.
