The Rolling Stones have dismissed rumours that they will be appearing at Led Zeppelin's one-off reunion concert to perform alongside them.

There was speculation that frontman Mick Jagger and the band's drummer Charlie Watts would have a surprise guest slot at the O2 Arena event on December 10.

But the pair have now released a statement denying the claims, saying: "Contrary to media speculation, Mick Jagger and Charlie Watts will not be participating in any way at the Led Zeppelin concert in December, but wish them well for a great gig."

Guests that have been confirmed to perform during the concert are Paolo Nutini, The Who's Pete Townshend and Bill Wyman with The Rhythm Kings.
