Duran Duran forced to cancel NY concerts

Duran Duran have been forced to cancel three of their concerts in New York City because of the current strike on Broadway.

The group had performed half of their scheduled gigs at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre when they were disrupted by protesters who set up picket lines in front of the Broadway theatres at the weekend.

Duran Duran then called off their Saturday show, which they hope to reschedule for a later date, and are now trying to move a further two concerts to a nearby venue.

Over 20 plays and musicals have been disrupted since stagehands, who help put up scenery and move equipment during the shows, began the strike on Saturday. It is not clear how long the strike will last.
