My Chemical Romance have lost a second full-time member for their upcoming world tour, leaving them with just three of the usual players.

Guitarist Frank Lero left the tour after their show in Newcastle on Sunday after he learnt that a family member had fallen ill.

He will temporarily be replaced by Matt Cortez, who played with the group while Mikey Way took six months off after getting married earlier this year.

Drummer Bob Bryar has also had to miss most of the dates due to a worsening wrist problem, but he is still travelling on the tour and helping with the show's pyrotechnics instead.

Gerard revealed Bryar's replacement is "a friend of ours named Pete who plays in another band, so has asked us kindly not to say the name".

The news means that My Chemical Romance members Gerard and Mikey Way and lead guitarist Ray Toro are the only three full-time members on the tour.

Gerard insisted that the show would still impress their fans, telling NME: "We've been through a lot of stuff on this record, dealt with life situations and stuff. Ultimately it's gonna be a little different and look a little different, but we're ready for this."
