The Cult's Ian Astbury has sparked rumours of a 2008 Led Zeppelin tour, by suggesting that his band may be supporting a group with the letters 'L' and 'Z' in it next year.

Astbury revealed the news during an interview with Billboard magazine.

He said: "We'll be back next year, because we're opening for a band you may have heard of. The name starts with an 'L' and has a 'Z' in it."

When asked if he meant Led Zeppelin, Astbury reportedly nodded and raised an arm in the air.

Led Zeppelin have made no official announcement about any dates other than their one-off reunion gig at the 02 Arena in December.
