The Police have confirmed that they will be headlining the Isle of Wight music festival next year.
The event will be the only UK festival at which the recently reformed band will appear in 2008. They will be the closing act as they play the final performance on the Sunday night.
Festival promoter John Giddings said: "It's a coup to get The Police for the Festival. We're very happy to have the biggest tour of the last two years stopping by the Isle of Wight."
This year The Rolling Stones headlined the June event, alongside Snow Patrol and Muse.
Next year's festival will take place from June 13 to 15 at the Seaclose Park in Newport, Isle of Wight.
