Carling has halted its sponsorship of the Reading and Leeds festivals.
The beer company, which has worked with the events for nine years, has agreed by mutual consent to end their partnership.
In a statement, Festival Republic's Melvin Benn said: "This marks a happy turning point in the festival’s history with Reading Festival reclaiming its name after the Carling Weekend association."
Benn thanked Carling for its input with the festival and confimed that the events would be taking place as usual in 2008 over the August bank holiday weekend.
He added that the festivals' details and lineup would be announced at some point in March.
