Maximo Park release own beer brand
Published Monday, Dec 3 2007, 15:16 GMT | By Daniel Saney

The band has agreed to design the label for the beverage, a renamed version of Tyneside Brewers' Newcastle Brown Ale, after being approached by the brewery.
Frontman Paul Smith said: "So many amazing things have happened for our band in a short space of time and to have our image emblazoned on a Brown label is another addition to that list.
"It would be great for our band to be as synonymous with Newcastle as the mighty Brown Ale, and it's both amusing and an honour to be able to deface the label in this manner!"
The repackaged ale will go on sale for a limited period in bars nationwide from December 15, when Maximo Park will play Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena.
Another packaging variation went on sale in 2006 to mark the retirement of Newcastle United footballer Alan Shearer.
The band's new single 'Karaoke Plays' is out now.
