According to Music News, the group will start work on the follow-up to their multi-platinum American Idiot album in January.
The rockers' manager has also revealed that their official website will be altered so that it steps away from the themes and images of their last record.
No firm release date has been set for their new album.
The band claimed earlier this year that they already had 45 songs prepared for the new LP, while singer Billie Joe Armstrong described it as "total chaos".
