McFly's Tom Fletcher has claimed that his band don't get enough credit for their songwriting skills.
The popstar believes that if more established music writers like Gary Barlow or Guy Chambers had written their hits, they would be received as classics.
Fletcher told The Sun: "I’m definitely not mentioned in the same breath as people like that.
"Because I’m part of a band people perceive my songwriting skills in the same way they do the group and that is to frown upon them both.
"People are really snobbish about it. If Guy Chambers had written all our songs people would really praise him. I’ve no doubt about that."
He added: "Someone once said to me that if Oasis had done 'Room On The Third Floor' it would have been heralded as one of the greatest songs of all time.
"I said to them, ‘You could be right’. I see our music like that."
Fletcher has helped write ten number one singles for McFly and Busted so far in his career, but claims he no longer gets annoyed by the lack of credit.
He commented: "We went through a stage of being really annoyed about it all and being so frustrated we didn’t get that recognition.
"It would be brilliant to have some of that and get some Ivor Novello awards, but we don’t."
