Kiss have filed a lawsuit against Big Mountain Concert Co over a breach of contract.
The band are seeking $900,000 (£440,000) in damages, claiming that the firm has damaged their reputation by cancelling one of their concerts.
The case stems from a gig, scheduled for September 15, which was cancelled for what Big Mountain calls "logistical reasons".
Representatives of the band claim that the promoters never had the venue secured in the first place and are in breach of contract.
Big Mountain president Dennis MacDonald has said that the band's changing demands were behind the cancellation and claims the company never signed a contract with the rockers.
He said: "To be in breach of contract when we don't have a contract is a bit interesting to us."
