Arctics may release standalone singles
Arctic Monkeys have revealed that they may release standalone singles rather than an album in 2008.

Drummer Matt Helders claimed that the group already have new material ready to be recorded and may get it out quickly rather than wait to formulate an album.

He told BBC 6 Music: "We've got things written, several new ideas and new songs that are ready to record.

"We will do recording early on. We might not necessarily record and then release an album. We might just do little bits at once or [release] singles.

"There's really nothing planned. It just depends how it goes, which is a nice change. We can go into the studio and not necessarily have to have something done by, like, the end of the month.

"It'll be like, 'Just see what happens'."

The track 'Sandtrap' is rumoured to be up for consideration as a single after they played it during their recent gig at London's Alexandra Palace.
