The track features on the band's album Shotter's Nation but artist Wayne Kenyon, who used to play with Babyshambles guitarist Mik Whitnall in former band The Ferrymen, has claimed that the song was based on his work.
1980s punk band Britanarchists have also questioned the song, as one of the lines sounds similar to one in 'Stiff With a Quiff', written by Nick Toczeks.
Kenyon told The Sun: "Baddie's Boogie' is a tune I wrote for The Ferrymen. I have footage of me playing it at three gigs in Germany in 1997.
"I have written to Babyshambles' record company and they said they were passing it on to their lawyers. But I have heard nothing since."
Babyshambles have not yet commented on the allegations.
