Gallagher to sing for Manchester supergroup
Liam Gallagher has agreed to sing with a Manchester supergroup at a cancer charity concert next month, say reports.

He will join ex-Stone Roses singer Ian Brown, Primal Scream's Mani, former New Order star Peter Hooke and ex-Smiths bassist Andy Rourke onstage for the Manchester V Cancer show, claims The Sun.

Hook, Mani and Rourke have been working together on a project called Freebass for a couple of years and will now perform live with Gallagher and Brown on vocal duties.

The concert takes place at the MEN Arena on February 23. Other acts reportedly scheduled to play include The Verve, James, and Happy Mondays.

The show has been organised by Rourke, and the '80s indie hero believes it could become a legendary gig.

He said: "This year’s gig is going to be talked about for years to come. We’ve got some of the biggest bands of the moment lined up as well as some legendary acts."
