Adele tops Sound of 2008 list

Previous acts that have appeared on the list include Mika, The Kaiser Chiefs, Corinne Bailey Rae and Keane.
The poll is compiled by 150 critics, editors and broadcasters, who are asked to name their favourite new act.

Adele, who is signed to the XL label, told the BBC that she is planning to enjoy her success.
She said: "I'm really excited. I hope it's always about the music and I hope I don't become scandalous and it takes me an hour to get out of my front door.
"I hope I always enjoy it, and I think I will. I'm having a laugh."
