The Shins keyboardist Marty Crandall has been arrested after a violent incident in a hotel room on Friday night.
The indie music star is currently being held at Sacramento County Jail, with bail set at $25,000 [£12,600], according to NME.
Crandall's girlfriend Elyse Sewell has posted a blog on Live Journal, claiming that he was intoxicated and assaulted her.
Sewell, who appeared on America's Next Top Model has posted images of bruises on her arms in the blog.
She was also arrested after Crandall revealed bite marks to the police, but she insisted that they occurred in self-defence and was later released.
Crandall is due to appear in court on January 8.
