The veteran singer is keen to play with Arabian pop star Kazem Al Sahir, according to XFM.
If the gig goes ahead, Morrissey will be one of the first Western musicians to play the country.
Morrissey is currently waiting for the approval of Iran's Ministry Of Culture And Islamic Guidance.
The former Smiths frontman is determined to tour the Middle East, even if the Iran gig gets cancelled, claims his manager Merck Mercuriadis.
Mercuriadis said: "One way or another we will tour the Middle East - in terms of places like Jerusalem and Beirut. And we hope to play Iran."
