The Leicester rockers said that they were "cracking on" with the LP and are "halfway there" with the sessions.
Speaking on Radio 1, guitarist Sergio Pizzorono said: "We're sort of in the process. I don't really know when it’s going to be released, but as soon as we think it's ready it'll be out."
Describing how the record was sounding, he added: "It's psychedelic this one, it's going to open your mind."
The band's recent limited edition single 'Fast Fuse' will be included on the album due to demand from fans.
Pizzorno commented: "I think it's going to go on the album. We've had thousands of people saying we want it on the album, we want it on the album, so it's going to go on."
Kasabian's last album Empire was released in August 2006.
