The Enemy win XFM New Music gong

The gong, which celebrates acts' debut releases, was chosen by a panel including Manic Street Preachers' Nicky Wire, Clint Boon, Maximo Park's Paul Smith and NME editor Connor McNicholas at London' Koko last night.
The event, which was hosted by XFM DJ Alex Zane, had performances from nominated acts The Wombats, The View, The Twang and The Maccabees.
Singer Tom Clarke was not available to collect the award, but the band insisted that this was due to illness and not because of disputes between the group and Alex Zane.
Zane banned The Enemy's songs from his breakfast show last year after the band made offensive remarks about him getting run over by a bus.
