Arctic Monkeys have decided to snub the Brit Awards to avoid clashing with Take That at the ceremony, say reports.
The Sheffield rockers upset the veteran boyband by calling them a "load of b*******" at the 2006 Q Awards and are worried they may lose out to Gary Barlow's band on live TV next month.
Both Take That and Arctic Monkeys are nominated for the Best Group, Single and Album gongs.
According to The Mirror, organisers are keen to persuade the indie band to appear at the event because they believe the feud will make great TV.
"There is a distinct lack of indie bands at this year's awards and there was a slim hope that Arctic Monkeys might come and add a bit of rock 'n 'roll to the event," said a source.
"Everyone knows they aren't big on awards and, at the moment, they seem to have no intention of coming. It's a shame, as their ongoing feud with Take That could have added a real spark to proceedings."
Organisers are hoping that the possibility of appearing onstage with Paul McCartney, who has won this year's Lifetime Achievement Award, will persuade the band to attend.
A source added: "They may go to the afterparty if Sir Paul has one. They went to the Oasis party at Cuckoo Club last year.
"Or, if they were asked to duet with him at the end of the show, I think Alex and the lads would find it hard to turn down."
