Pigeon Detectives slam Brit Awards list

Yorkshire rockers Pigeon Detectives have slammed the Brit Awards for shunning guitar music.

The 'I Found Out' band were pleased that fellow Leeds act Kaiser Chiefs were nominated but admitted that they didn't care about the awards ceremony.

Singer Matt Bowman told the Daily Star: "I think they’re a load of rubbish. I’m really glad Arctic Monkeys and Kaiser Chiefs are up for an award this year, but guitar music seems to be out of favour again with the organisers."

He also revealed that the group were already working on the follow-up to 2007's Wait For Me and claimed that it should be released before the summer.

"They don’t want to be one of those bands that takes years off between albums. That’s one of the beauties of being on an independent label. They’re on fire at the moment," said a source.
