Lost Vagueness pulls out of Glastonbury

Lost Vagueness, one of Glastonbury Festival's best-loved attractions, has pulled out of the event.
The area hosted varied and eccentric performers, the famous Glastonbury chapel and big-name acts from Madness to the Scissor Sisters. It was known for its distinctive atmosphere and dubbed a "festival within a festival".
Lost Vagueness, the independent group that hosted the area, announced on its website that it would not be taking part, after ten years at the festival, because of a dispute with the organisers.
A statement, apparently from founder Roy Gurvitz, said: "After ten monumental years, the 'festival within the festival', which is Lost Vagueness, will NOT be happening at Glastonbury 2008.
"It is rumoured that the vacuum created by the Lost Vagueness departure will be filled by some ex Lost Vagueness crew and others, attempting to re-create a similar production in the same area..."
It warned against "imitations" and added: "We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our fans for their continued support throughout the years who have followed our shows at the festival, and hope this announcement will not disappoint too many of you."
