Harris worked with Minogue on the 'Heart Beat Rock' track on her X album, and was briefly linked with the Aussie singer in 2007 after they were spotted on evenings out together in London.
However, the producer now wishes he had made more of the media interest, claiming it would have helped him sell more copies of his solo album.
He is quoted as saying: "Had I been a bit more intelligent about it I could have kept it going for months.
"I would have been Kylie's boyfriend Calvin Harris and I would have sold a few more albums."
