Jack Johnson earns album chart No.1

Jack Johnson's fifth record Sleep Through The Static has debuted at the top of the albums chart.

The accolade is the second for the Hawaiian singer-songwriter, who earned a number one placing with In Between Dreams in 2005. Last week's number one, Adele's 19, falls to two, while Nickelback hold steady at three.

Hot Chip manage their highest chart placing to date with third record Made In The Dark, which debuts at four, while Mary J Blige enters at six with Growing Pains.
