Speaking to Orange World, Eavis said: "We had a kind of retrospective time during Christmas, talking about it and whether it's a long-term thing.
"I kinda feel that we should ply everything into this [festival] as if it be the last.
"It's a risky, risky business and it would be nice to think, to know that it could go on forever, [but] I don't know if that's possible."
Michael Eavis recently said he wanted to bring a younger audience to the festival because it has become too "middle-aged" and "respectable".
The festival was first held in 1970 with tickets costing £1. The price included free milk from Worthy farm.
Kings of Leon, Jay-Z and The Verve have all been confirmed as headliners for the Pyramid Stage. Massive Attack, CSS and Hot Chip will also play the 2008 festival.
