The popstar believes that the public has forgotten the fact they were formed on a reality show and that their music deserves recognition at the ceremony.
She told the Daily Star: "There’s only so long you can deny us.
"I think there’s a real stigma about where we came from but finally, because we have kept going, made some good music and been successful, we’re getting some recognition for that.
"We’ve got a really good fan base, and we are beginning to win people over."
The girl-group are nominated in the Best British Group category alongside Editors, Take That, Kaiser Chiefs and Arctic Monkeys.
Harding handed Arctic Monkeys the NME Awards Best Album gong last year and would like the Sheffield rockers to return the favour at the Brits.
She commented: "I like those boys the Arctics, but it would be nice if they could award us this time.
"It would be really funny. It would be the icing on the cake after five years to get a Brit Award."
