He joined the Wakefield band in January and has started recording tracks with the group for a possible future EP.
Marr also appeared onstage with the band for a couple of tracks during their recent gigs on the NME Awards Tour.
Cribs guitarist Ryan Jarman confessed last week that they were growing closer to Marr and that he was likely to become a permanent fixture in the band.
Also performing at the post-awards concert at the O2 arena are Klaxons, Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs and Manic Street Preachers.
The NME Awards take place on February 28.
