Jack White has revealed that he will be appearing on a new Bob Dylan album covering the works of country star Hank Williams.

According to MTV, the White Stripes frontman was invited onto the project by Dylan and will guest on a version of 'You Know That I Know'.

The album will feature fresh takes on incomplete songs from Williams's back catalogue.

Other acts rumoured to be involved in the project are Willie Nelson, Alan Jackson and Lucinda Williams.

Talking about Dylan's plans, White said: "He did one, asked Willie Nelson to do one, asked me to do one, and I think Lucinda Williams and Alan Jackson are on it too.

"I think it might come out this year. It's a cool record."
