The frontman revealed that at last year's Glastonbury the band were rushed about and didn't get to soak up the atmosphere for headliners The Who.
Wilson told the Daily Star: "I’ve told my tour manager we’d like to stay at things and hang out more this year.
"At Glastonbury last year we’d just come off and The Who were going on. But we had to get on a bus, then a plane. I couldn’t believe we walked away from a Who gig.
"You tend to go with the flow, but we have to put our foot down this year. I’d like to arrive a day early and leave a day after we play."
The Leeds rockers have already confirmed that they will be headlining this year's Isle of Wight Festival and topping the second stage lineup at T in the Park.
