Futureheads slam lazy record labels
Published Thursday, Feb 28 2008, 14:00 GMT | By Alex Fletcher

The Sunderland four-piece believe the industry is more interested in the celebrity culture of "Heat magazine" than developing new acts.
Bassist Jaff told DS: "Labels these days and the music industry doesn't show faith in the right bands.
"They don't show faith in bands with promise, and nurture talent. They f***ing piss about with Heat magazine - it's a pain in the arse."
The 'Hounds of Love' rockers split from 679 Recordings in 2006 and now run their own label Nul.
Speaking about the split, Jaff said: "As a band I think we've always written really good songs and played really well live, so it makes us quite angry to think people said, 'Well we quite like you. We quite want to do another record, but only if it's on our terms'.
"Well no, this is supposed to be a partnership, you can f**k off, we'll do it on our own thank you very much."
Jaff also confirmed that the band would be playing this year's Glastonbury and V Festivals.
