Kate Nash shocked to beat Winehouse
Kate Nash admitted she was thought Amy Winehouse would beat her to the Best Solo Artist prize at the NME Awards.

The 'Foundations' singer was so in shock at beating Winehouse that she didn't even prepare a speech.

"Oh, my speech was awful, I've just realised!" admitted Nash to NME. "I'm genuinely really surprised. I was not nervous about today, I thought Amy Winehouse had won and that's cool, so I was just going to come and cheer and boo. So when I won it I was like 'argh'!"

Nash added she was overwhelmed at picking up her first NME prize.

"It's been a weird day, I'm not really with it. How am I going to celebrate? I'm going to drink all the free whiskeys they're giving away."

Nash was recently confirmed as the first act to take to the Pyramid stage at this year's Glastonbury Festival.
