The ska-rock four-piece confirmed on their official website that they decided to "call it a day" at Christmas.
The message reads: "Some of you may have heard the news by now, The Dead 60s are no more. We decided to call it a day just after Christmas.
"There's no big story, no falling out between us. We just felt like the band had run its course, time for us all to branch out and try other things."
The band released a self-titled debut album in 2005, which featured four top 40 singles.
However, 2007 single release 'Stand Up' only reached number 54. A follow-up LP Time To Take Sides was scheduled to be released later this year.
At Glastonbury 2005 the group were supposed to open the festival on the Other Stage, but were forced to cancel the show due to dangerous weather conditions.
