The pair formed the band with McCartney's late wife Linda and drummer Denny Seiwell in 1971, a year after the Beatles officially split.
However, their relationship soured in 1980 when McCartney was arrested for marijuana possession after arriving in Japan for a tour. The tour was subsequently cancelled and the group went their separate ways the following year.
The former bandmates have now renewed their friendship and attended a U2 concert in London together last December.
