Lily Allen pulls Isle of Wight gig

Lily Allen has pulled out of the Isle of Wight Festival due to delays with her new album.

Festival organiser John Giddings said he was disappointed Allen couldn't play, but added that he didn't believe the record company's explanation for her cancellation.

Giddings told eFestivals: "It's true, [her people] have said she's not coming, she hasn't delivered her record, and I said I haven't booked a record I've booked an artist.

"I think the poor girl has got a few problems. Unfortunately England, although it produces good girl singer songwriters, they don't seem to be capable of running the course.

"It's a good job she pulled out now and not the day before, I wish her the best I hope she sorts herself out."

When asked whether there would be a replacement act, he commented: "Not necessarily, I might spend the money instead of on her on making the festival green because we've got a great bill anyway, we've sold out and nobody seems that bothered about her turning up.

"I'm thinking about it now, I'm not rushing into anything yet. I don't think there's pressure on us to do anything about it yet as the festival is still three months away and we've got a number of options available to us and I'd rather do something constructive with the money."

Kaiser Chiefs, The Sex Pistols and The Police will headline this year's bash. It takes place on June 13-15.

Other acts confirmed include The Enemy, James, Kate Nash, Iggy and the Stooges, The Zutons, and KT Tunstall.
