The Arctic Monkeys singer performed an eight-song acoustic set with The Rascals' Miles Kane in Brooklyn music store Soundfix.
Fans queued down the street to watch the last minute show, which previewed songs from the pair's LP The Age Of The Understatement.
Speaking onstage Turner said: "We’re here to promote our forthcoming extravaganza and we thought it would be nice to play for you folks, so thanks for coming down.
After five songs the frontman commented on the duo's lack of material, saying: "We’re fast running out here Miles, I’m worried it’ll be over too soon."
The Last Shadow Puppets' debut is scheduled for release on April 21.
