Ringo Starr has admitted that he gets "fed up" of constantly being asked about his time in The Beatles.

The musician complained that the media focuses too much on his association with the Fab Four and ignores his later career as a singer and songwriter.

"Some days I'm just fed up with The Beatles," Starr explained. "I think that when when I die, the message on my tombstone will be 'Ex-Beatle'. Like I've done nothing else."

Ringo was criticised by Liverpool residents earlier this year, after he confessed that he has no plans to return to live in his home city.
