The 'Stop And Stare' singer admitted there was a place for "fun" in the music industry, but claimed he found it hard to enjoy manufactured pop groups.
He told Metro: "I’m not into girl groups. There’s a place for fun music but when I know a group was put together by some businessman…It’s insincere. I’ve never bought a record by a girl group."
Tedder also revealed that he doesn't worry about comparisons between his band and Coldplay because he would enjoy even "a fraction of their success".
OneRepublic's debut album Dreaming Out Loud was released earlier this week.
