Kate Nash has said that she deserved to beat Leona Lewis to the Best British Female award at this year's Brits.
The 'Foundations' singer claimed her victory showed that artists could be successful without being "manufactured" and argued that she is an inspiration to young girls.
She told The Sun: "Leona seems like a really nice girl. But I think it was really good I won because I started this myself.
"I'm not a manufactured size zero pop artist who is going to bring out her own perfume and clothes range.
"There are teenage girls who grow up wanting to kill themselves because they can't be as pretty as the girls in the magazines. But I'm quite normal, so it's great."
Nash, who is currently in the US at the South By Southwest music festival, also revealed that is she is getting sick of dealing with people in the music industry who don't let themselves go.
She admitted that she even ended up throwing a beer during a Cribs gig because the audience weren't excited enough about her boyfriend Ryan Jarman's band.
"I thought it was going to be amazing but I got there and the band were amazing but the crowd were s**t. It was just industry w****rs with their clipboards," said Nash.
"I threw a beer and it went over all of these industry people and they got upset. And I was like 'Have you never had beer thrown over you at a gig before? It's a Cribs gig'. Some of my friends have broken bones at gigs."
