New Raconteurs album leaked online

The Raconteurs' new album Consolers Of The Lonely has leaked on to the internet.

The new LP accidentally became available via iTunes at the weekend, just three weeks after the band finished working on it.

The Jack White-led group announced last week that they planned to rush-release it tomorrow and had purposely not issued promo copies, saying: "We wanted to get this record to fans, the press, radio, etc., all at the exact same time so that no one has an upper hand on anyone else regarding its availability, reception or perception."

However, although the album was quickly pulled from iTunes, it had already spread to illegal filesharing sites around the web.

The record is the follow up to their 2006 debut Broken Boy Soldiers.
