Mike Love had sued Al Jardine after Jardine toured as The Beach Boys when Love, a co-founder and one of the original lead singers, claimed to have sole rights.
A "friendly settlement" was agreed following a two-day conference in Superior Court in Los Angeles, but no details have been revealed.
The band was formed in 1961 by Carl, Dennis and Brian Wilson, their cousin Love and friend Jardine.
A federal judge had previously ruled in 2000 that Jardine was engaging in trademark infringement for touring under variations of the group's name when Love was its sole licensee.
Love and Carl Wilson’s estate sued Jardine again in 2004 for $2.2 million in legal bills from the original lawsuit. The case had been due to go to trial in April until it was settled last Wednesday.
