Maguire: 'My pop career was humiliating'

He revealed that although he developed "thick skin" it was often an uncomfortable experience promoting his records.
Maguire told Metro: "I’ve had every kind of humiliation, from playing in Gala Bingo halls to doing a PA in a Glaswegian nightclub and having cans of lager thrown at me."
He added: "I was pretty depressed. I felt I’d sold out. Like most of the country at that time I loved Blur and Oasis but was on stage singing: 'I want to hold your hand and kiss you, woo woo woo'.
"I felt like an idiot. People would come up to me on the street every single day and say: 'You’re crap'."
The actor released two albums and scored eight top 40 hits between 1994-97 including 'Someone To Love', 'Good Day' and 'Suddenly'.
