Keith Allen has revealed that he is following in the footsteps of daughter Lily by recording an album.

The actor, who was a member of the group Fat Les and co-wrote New Order's football anthem 'World In Motion', announced that he is now working on his own material.

He said the LP is based on songs he penned for Lily when she was trying to launch her pop career at the age of 15.

He has already recorded several tracks with Pablo Cook, who previously worked with acts including Madonna, Joe Strummer and Robbie Williams.

He is quoted by the Independent as saying: "I worked very hard on these 11 songs for Lily, and she decided not to use them. A 15-year-old girl sounded ridiculous singing the lyrics of a 40-year-old man, but it inspired me to write the album we're working on."

However, he insisted that he would not be performing his new music at the Glastonbury Festival, saying: "I think there's much better places to go to be honest.

"Whenever I've been before, I always ended up arguing with Michael Eavis about having to pay to get in. I put more in than I take out when I'm there in terms of entertainment."
