Carey now has more US chart-toppers than any other solo artist, with only the Beatles, with 20 number ones, ahead of her in the all-time list. Carey had previously shared the solo artist record with Elvis Presley.
Meanwhile, Presley surrenders another chart record to Madonna, whose '4 Minutes' vaults from 68 to three to become her 37th US top ten hit - more than any other artist. Madonna and Presley had previously been tied on 36 apiece.
Usher's 'Love In This Club' sticks at number two on this week's Billboard 100, with Leona Lewis' 'Bleeding Love' slipping from one to four.
