The singer said he could accept people slating the band's music, but that personal remarks are unnecessary.
Pritchard told The Sun: "I don’t mind people criticising our music. But I hated it on a personal level. It annoyed me when journalists made digs. This whole class thing f***s me off.
"Why have you got to ask about class when you can take so many bands who are far more middle or upper-class than we are?"
He added: "Everyone today is trying to be cool and act a certain way, but with us, it’s unpretentious."
The frontman, who has been romantically linked to Katie Melua and Fearne Cotton, also said he wasn't comfortable with the group's pin-up image.
"It’s a bit silly. Like we’ve just finished a meeting with a stylist for a shoot tomorrow," commented Pritchard. "We’re really not into that sort of thing.
"It’s nice to get free clothes but I’m not into designer stuff. I got offered to do a Revlon commercial, but it’s just not me.
"We also got an offer to advertise Burberry, but it’s not something I enjoy. I enjoy playing music. That’s real to me and fashion isn’t."
The Kooks release their sophomore album Konk on April 14.
