The singer revealed that she still feels stunned after topping the Billboard chart last week with her single 'Bleeding Love'. She is the first British female artist to secure a US number one in over 20 years.
"I can't really grasp it. It's amazing," Leona explained in an interview with ABC's Good Morning America. "I'm just so thankful for this opportunity to come here and to be able to sing in different places all around the world. The reception's been amazing, people have been really great."
Lewis added that the decision to take time over her debut album after she won The X Factor in 2006 had paid off.
"It takes a long time to make a full body of work, something that can represent me and that I can be proud of," she said. "I know that that needed time."
