Adele surprised by media hype
Published Saturday, Apr 5 2008, 12:00 BST | By Daniel Kilkelly

The singer was the subject of much attention in the media after it was announced that she had won the first Brit Awards Critics' Choice prize in December last year. At that point, she had not yet released her debut album 19.
Though the positive press came as a shock for the 19-year-old, she has insisted that she does not feel pressured to meet critics' expectations.
"I don't feel under pressure. I am fine, because I never made any claims about my success," she explained. "I hope everyone can move on soon and forget about the hype. Then my music can speak for itself.
"I mean, the way some people have gone on about me you would think I had made 'Dark Side Of The Moon' or something!"
Adele was recently dumped by her indie star boyfriend Slinky Sunbeam.
