He said he was pleased the US rockers were headlining this year's Reading and Leeds Festivals because they are still getting better as a band.
The group played hits from their Hot Fuss and Sam's Town LPs at last year's Glastonbury Festival, but the singer argued there was no reason for them to disappear from the public eye.
Flowers told NME: "People say you need to go away, but I don't see the reason for it. We're about to reach our peak now - I don't think we've reached it yet.
"I feel like I'm learning more about becoming a better singer, I'm becoming a better songwriter and we're getting better at all the things we do, so it's exciting for me."
Talking about the group's third album, he said: "We go into the studio in June and we're planning on having the album done by [the time we play Reading and Leeds], so we'll definitely want to play some new songs when we get over."
