The 40-year-old cancelled last night's concert at a Las Vegas hotel after being taken ill on Monday evening.
She has been performing her show 'Toni Braxton: Revealed' at the Flamingo Hotel-casino since August 2006 as part of a two-year residency.
Flamingo spokeswoman Deanna Pettit said the singer was kept in overnight and was expected to leave yesterday after precautionary tests.
She added that Braxton had previously been treated for pericarditis, a vital inflammation of the heart from which she has suffered for several years.
Flamingo president Don Marrandino said: "We wish Toni a quick recovery and would like her to take the time she needs to regain optimal health. We are looking forward to her return at the end of the week."
